Barclays Bank PLC seeks a VP, Macro Sales for its 745 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10019 location.
Duties: On behalf of global financial services firm, perform financial analysis and provide Macro Sales coverage for clients. Develop and maintain relationships with key U.S. institutional investor clients in Brazil, including banks, hedge funds, family offices, and asset managers, and assess investment opportunities across Macro markets (interest rates, Foreign Exchange (FX), repo, and Emerging Markets (EM)) as well as Credit markets. Work with new and existing external and internal clients (including Research and Trading), providing idea generation, and updating them on financial market views, color, and movements, trade execution and strategy, and hedging needs, for Macro and Credit financial products. Use Bloomberg and Barclays Live to monitor trends and developments in financial market movements, conduct research, and analyze financial performance and data, and industry and market conditions in order to recommend investments and investment timing ideas. Use analysis and reports from Barclays’ Economists and Research Strategists in order to provide market research to clients and build Macro Sales franchise. Use financial models and tools including Devon, sParx and COMET, and E-commerce platforms including Bloomberg and BARX to assist Traders with pricing and executing FX cash, FX forwards, FX options, IR Swaps, Credit Default Swaps, IR options, Bonds, and repos for Brazilian clients. Drive prospecting, onboarding, and development of new client accounts across Macro, and execute and coordinate regional client marketing and plans of action.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field plus three (3) years of experience in a related Rates/Emerging Markets Sales role for a global financial services firm. Full term (3 years) of experience must include: Using Bloomberg to price, model, and trade clients’ fixed income transactions; Working with financial products including credit bonds, IR derivatives, FX spot and forwards, options, and repos; Developing and maintaining relationships with Brazilian institutional clients, including providing market color, research, and investment ideas; and Reviewing legal documents to ensure transaction risks are properly disclosed to clients. Must have knowledge of: U.S. regulatory control framework, landscape, and requirements for transactions, including EMIR, Dodd-Frank, MiFid, and MAD/MAR; IR derivatives pricing techniques and strategies, and funding, counterparty credit, and capital impacts; trade booking models, and document generation tools.
