Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally, with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Wells Fargo Capital Finance (WFCF), a division of Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, is one of the top lead arrangers of asset-based loans in the U.S. with a large and diversified portfolio of close to 2,400 customers and more than $33 billion in loans outstanding. WFCF offers traditional asset-based financing, specialized senior secured financing, accounts receivable financing, purchase order financing, and supply chain financing to a wide range of companies throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

This position will help facilitate the Direct Loan Origination efforts in the Northeast Region. This is a key position with responsibilities that include business development coverage of Wells Fargo Capital Finance prospective clients in close partnership with Wells Fargo Wholesale Banking Partners. Originations coverage includes representing WFCF through direct contacting of company c-level execs, decision makers and / or leveraging existing Wells Fargo relationships to do the same. Additional responsibilities include researching public companies and private companies; tracking companies through a very organized, consistent, and persistent coverage model; maintaining WFCF databases for direct origination efforts; identifying potential new prospects; identifying new resources to increase success of the direct loan originations program. Work very closely with a team of analysts that are providing research and analytical support in the pursuit of new business relationships. Also work very closely with Business Development Officers (BDOs) once new opportunities have been identified and pre-screened. Team with other regional DLOs that cover other WFCF business units.

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to all applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of commercial lending experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Financial statement analysis experience

  • Lending opportunities analysis experience

  • Ability to communicate asset based lending credit products
