Web Services at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) is a growing and talented group of individuals who focus on bringing innovative approaches to Web and application development to the CUMC community. We are searching for a Web producer who thrives in a team-based environment, can multitask, and is comfortable with direct client interaction.

Reporting to the Director of Product and Content, the Web Producer's position has five main areas of focus (with other responsibilities as needed):

-working with team members to manage and implement content for new sites; coordinating with the project manager and technical team during site development and assisting with project coordination as needed

  • maintaining existing sites; manage process for content reviews and audits with team; ensure all pages are reviewed on schedule and produce and maintain accurate reports and logs of upcoming and historic changes

  • implement, track, and decipher web analytics

  • develop requirements for feature enhancements and user experience improvements

  • assist with the production of CMS training curriculum and materials

Content updates/implementation can range from simple text adjustments to other design enhancements that require experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Adobe Creative Suite; the Web Producer must have demonstrated skills in these areas. As part of the team, the Web Producer will also be a key participant in quality assurance testing prior to site launch and continuous improvement of the product and its features. The Web Producer acts as the champion of best practices and leads the effort to promote and implement those practices.

The Web Producer will work with team members, both during site building to receive and track content to receive and track content assets during site development and with ongoing site maintenance. To facilitate workflow and team efficiency, the Web Producer will take the lead on user experience enhancements and developing website launch and maintenance processes for content that will be adopted by Web services.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience plus two years of related experience.

  • Minimum 2 years experience working with content management systems, preferably Drupal

  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of content strategy, UX, and product management

  • Demonstrated experience with CSS, HTML, Adobe Creative Suite, and JavaScript

  • Experience with web analytics

  • Experience with JIRA

  • Experience with quality assurance, cross-browser testing, and accessibility compliance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills

  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, product management, content strategy, and developers

  • Ability to work with a team and independently

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with some project management experience

  • Ability to keep track of multiple projects and inform team of progress
