Talent Acquisition Specialist

Do you enjoy making new connections? Stark Carpet Corporation is seeking a dynamic Talent Acquisition Specialist that will be based at our HQ in New York City or Long Island City. The ideal candidate that we select will recruit for positions throughout the United States with a particular focus on sales, sales support and administration.

Incumbent will be eligible for a competitive salary BOE, medical, dental, vision and life insurance, PTO, 401K and TransitChek.

Responsibilities

  • Source high caliber talent using methods including job boards, social media, special events, college recruiting, etc.

  • Connect with and recruit passive candidates using creative and nontraditional methods.

  • Sort, review and assess solicited and unsolicited resumes and applications.

  • Maintain applicant database of resumes and applications.

  • Maintain recruitment logs.

  • Submit qualified resumes/applications to hiring manager for review and coordinate interview schedules with hiring manager or their support staff.

  • Conduct phone screenings with both internal and external candidates.

  • Conduct follow up reviews of candidates with hiring managers.

  • Conduct reference and background checks.

  • Create job postings and external ad copy

  • Ensure that candidates are entered into our tracking systems for EEO and AA purposes.

  • Coach hiring managers on interviewing and refresh them on legal issues related to recruitment and interviewing as needed.

  • Collaborate with HR Team various projects throughout the each year as needed.

  • Perform HR Generalist duties as needed.

  • Must provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Desired Skills and Experience

Eligibility Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR or related field of study and 1+ years in recruiting or staffing OR

4 + years with the combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Experience in luxury carpet/rug industry a plus

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and social media

Knowledge of or ability to learn employment laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and presentation.

Ability to read, write and interpret routine reports and correspondences.

Good analytical and organizational skills.

Ability to multi-task, follow-up, meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

Ability to act with professional decorum, tact, and integrity

Ability to work independently with little supervision.
