Job Description:

As a member of the Commercial Energy Division, the Sr. Marketing and Communications Manager will lead the planning, development, and implementation of marketing strategies and activities to support our energy efficiency efforts for several large utilities in New York. Ultimately, this position will also support other utility and government clients in New York, New England and across the country, as needed. On a daily basis we help our clients and communities use less energy, save money and help the environment through the development, implementation and refinement of marketing and outreach initiatives. We are looking for someone who is as passionate about our work as we are and has the skills and attitude to be successful. This position will be based in our New York City office and will involve coordination with the client and other ICF teams supporting this large portfolio of programs. Additionally, the Sr. Manager will also work closely with ICF support teams based throughout the US to serve our many clients. Travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities: Manage the marketing of residential and commercial energy efficiency programs for utilities located in New York and the greater New England region. Develop annual marketing plans. Develop project budgets and revenue forecasts, and manage project budgets. Prepare monthly reports on activities and results of the marketing program. Supervise the marketing account representatives supporting the New York and New England markets. Work directly with clients and supervise direct reports, subcontractors and the ICF team to develop and implement marketing and communications strategies and plans to educate customers about energy efficiency, and engage them to drive participation in energy efficiency programs to meet program goals. Work with ICF Creative Services team to fulfill the development of on- and offline-marketing materials including advertising campaigns, web sites, direct mailers, brochures, testimonials, technical fact sheets, incentive applications forms, email and direct mail campaigns, trade ally newsletters, posters, display materials, etc. Manage the review and approval process for marketing materials, including working across the organization to deploy efforts (IT, program management, client, legal). Work with the ICF Data Analytics and the Media Services teams to develop, propose, and implement vertical marketing and advertising campaigns, coordinating the deployment of integrated outreach campaigns across broadcast, print, online, social media, events, etc. Manage the execution of digital and interactive communication strategies. Provide media relations support, including writing press releases, working with client and media contacts, building relationships with local press, and monitoring and flagging important news stories, trends. Develop and execute business growth strategies, including marketing to potential clients. This includes capture activities such as meeting with prospective clients within region, gathering competitor intelligence, attending and presenting at conferences, and responding to RFPs, as requested.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: BS/BA Degree in marketing communications, public relations or related communications field; masters preferred. 10 years of working experience in marketing, advertising, social marketing, or related field. Five years experience working in a marketing, advertising, public relations agency or consulting environment. Supervisory experience with a team to meet project requirements. Willingness to travel.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Interest in and commitment to energy efficiency, the environment, and sustainable living, including understanding of energy optimization programs and experience working on energy and/or energy efficiency efforts. Experience should include developing and implementing marketing communications plans, with the ability to manage and execute advertising, public relations, collateral development, and social media projects. Event coordination and management. Value-added Experience: o Working with clients within any of the following sectors is a benefit, but not required: energy efficiency; power/gas utilities; construction, real estate, architecture and engineering industries. o Working with providers of energy efficiency services for residential and/or commercial markets. o Understanding of energy optimization programs and experience working on energy and/or energy efficiency efforts.

Strong command of financial management and ability to stretch a limited marketing budget for maximum effectiveness. Working knowledge of computer and online tools, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and social networking sites.
