Do you speak fluent Spanish? Are you also fluent in English? Do you love helping others that speak the same language? I am looking to hire bilingual customer service reps to answer calls from other Spanish speakers that need assistance with applying for Medicaid or other insurance programs run by New York State. These can become permanent positions based on performance. There is plenty of room for growth and advancement with our client.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Responds and makes a best effort to resolve all callers' inquires and needs, including those concerning programs such as Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and Family Health Plus.

  • Assists customers including prospective enrollees and people assisting enrollees or acting on their behalf, via the phone, mail, web, or in person in accordance with all Department and MAXIMUS performance standards, policy and procedures, and protocols.

  • Provides information and direction to callers regarding mail-in and telephone renewals, the Premium Assistance and FHP Buy-In Programs, and other programs as applicable.

  • Facilitates the fulfillment of caller requests for documents via mail, fax, email, or download.

  • Responds to all inquiries consistent with confidentiality and privacy policies and refers callers to alternate sources when appropriate.

  • Accesses, reads, and interprets data elements on all applicable company and state systems provides support, resolves inquires, and educates callers.

  • Enters appropriate data and information into applicable automated systems for processing renewals and uses every call as an opportunity to provide education, support, and confirms accuracy of customer information in MAXe and state systems.

  • Facilitates translation services for non-English speaking callers according to procedures.

Working hours: Training Hours: 8-5:30 approx. 2-3 weeks training. Shift is 8 hours between 9-9 after training. Rotating Saturdays are required. Training begins October 23

Spanish Speaking candidates needed. Must be fluent in English and Spanish. Must love helping others on the phone.

Previous experience in customer service/call centers preferred.

Must be good with Excel and Word and be able to type 35+ words per minute.

Education Required: Associates or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and/or previous experience in customer service.

Background & Experience Required: Preferable experience in Call Center human services, human services, health care or service-related field. New York City candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
