Kforce has a client seeking a Senior Linux Administrator - DevOps/Puppet/Chef located in New York, New York (NY).Summary:The Senior Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for infrastructure and application support in a 24/7 SaaS environment. This position includes integrating with R&D DevOps and demonstrating proactive approach in maintaining and monitoring the company's production environments. Within this role the candidate will architect, design, install, configure and optimize enterprise computer systems and networks in a Linux based environment.Senior/Linux w/ DevOps Responsibilities:

  • Routine systems admin functions to maintain customer-facing servers

  • Recommend, design and implement systems management and automation systems

  • Design, configure and tune high availability Linux systems

  • Assist in implementing, executing, maintaining, and documenting proper DR and BC procedures

  • Participate in product deployments, upgrades and maintenance

  • Maintain the patch levels of all OS and application patches on all systems using automated systems

  • Manage technical projects ensuring best-practices, quality of work and meeting of deadlines

  • Install, configure and manage network routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, IPS, VPN, console servers, and other network device network administration

  • Assist with management of virtualization environment

  • Storage management

  • 5 years of Linux system administration experience (RHEL/CENTOS)

  • 2 years of experience as DevOps

  • Production SaaS/online environment Amazon cloud and data centers - at least 5 years

  • Virtualization experience - VMware

  • Experience with automation/configuration management - Puppet, Chef

  • Strong grasp of web technologies and architectural principles necessary for designing scalable, extensible and maintainable web applications and services

  • Strong scripting skills with experience in Perl, Python, Bash or other scripting languages

  • DB - MySQL, Oracle, CouchBase; advantage - Redis, MongoDB

  • Strong Linux security skills/experience

  • Strong network skills and familiarity with firewalls and network security - Juniper SRX, Juniper Cisco switches, and F5 load balancers

  • Performance Monitoring - AppDynamics, Icinga, Syslog (graylog, logstash)

  • Storage Experience - EMC/Netapp

  • Working with R&D - Jenkins, Teamcity, SVN, Git (source control)

  • Working in an agile environment

  • Good knowledge of the internet - TCPIP, CDN's, DNS, WebLogic, and Tomcat

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
