Responsibilities

Role Overview:

We are looking for a very seasoned Scrum Master who will be responsible for facilitating and guiding various project teams in their activities and helping to keep the project(s) on track using Agile Scrum methodology/framework. This role requires strong leadership, project management, effective communication and collaboration skills. This person should have a strong engineering management background with a proven track record of delivering project health & metrics to executives and project stakeholders for transparency. A deep understanding of software engineering practices in a commercial, fast paced, global media company and Agile Delivery process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize and facilitate PI planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint planning, and demos

  • Plan, manage and communicate releases, goals, schedules, dependencies, procedures and tasks to various stakeholder and executives

  • Mitigate issues and elevate to management as necessary

  • Ensure successful completion of sprints within scope, budget, time and quality parameters

  • Coach and mentor the team as needed to reach their highest potential

  • Enforce the standardized Agile Software Development Lifecycle across the Digital Product & Interactive Media’s portfolio of applications.

  • Provide project health to stakeholders and executives on a regular basis

  • Provide project forecasting and predictability by working with the Product and Engineering leaders.

  • Conduct mandatory post-mortem activities for each project completion and discuss outcomes with senior executives

  • Develop and influence agile transformation strategy in a highly matrixed environment with the ability to establish trust with stakeholders

  • Harness the metrics coming from the team and product owner both to help the team improve its own throughput and also to inform executives about how the teams are conforming to value.

  • Facilitate PI planning sessions

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5+ years of Scrum Master experience with strong knowledge of Scrum theory, practices and rules.

  • 2+ years experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework for the Enterprise)

  • Must be able to lead a team to self-organization

  • Experience in business analysis / requirements definition and risk management

  • Proven track record of Agile implementation and process. Experience leading Agile development using the principles and values of immediate Feedback and customer satisfaction.

  • Proven track record for collaboration as well as executing the software quality strategy in a highly matrixed environment with the ability to establish trust with stakeholders.

  • Scrum Master Certification preferred

  • Experience in business analysis / requirements definition and risk management

  • Expertise in Agile Management tools such as Rally, Version One, Jira.

  • Experience in assessing team health, removing organizational impediments, making room for failure, and having the ability to coach become central.
