Hotel Indigo Lower East Side is seeking a driven sales person to autonomously manage and coordinate all conferences, meetings, group functions, and group activities booked through our sales department. In this position, you will negotiate group rates, food and beverage prices, function space, and hotel services within approved departmental booking guidelines. This includes confirming in writing to the client and all affected hotel departments all group requirements via sales contract terms, addendums, confirmation of pricing, group resumes, and/or banquet event order from start to finish. You will actively solicit and secure new group/meetings business through local sales calls, site inspections, prospecting, blitzing, and sales trips to assigned industry segments. We want you to champion the neighborhood, create partnerships and special rates for local organizations, museums, associations so that we are the Lower East Side and surrounding neighborhoods' preferred hotel. Other hotel departments will work closely with you to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients. Assist in the preparation of the departmental budget and implementation of the hotel's leisure, SMERF group, catering and conference strategy. Other special projects may be assigned, as necessary and based on past experience.
To qualify for this opportunity, you must have an Associate's Degree/Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field of study. We are seeking 1-3 years proven sales or marketing experience and/or knowledge of hotel sales and/or catering. Experience with MeetingBooker, Cvent, Delphi, & Starsite preferred. You need to have the ability to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, etc. You may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
