We are seeking an executive-level Program Director to join our Program Management Group, leading a team of technical and administrative professionals managing high-profile projects across the NYC area and working closely with clients and other public, private, and political stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing project management and leadership to staff across multiple disciplines, including both direct project staff and consultants

  • Ensuring that projects remain on-time and on-budget, re-prioritizing accordingly to accommodate changing circumstances

  • Driving optimal efficiency and productivity through process improvement, implementing best practices, and other means

  • Establishing and maintaining positive client relationships

  • Working with third parties (e.g. public agencies and utilities) to obtain approval and permits

  • Ensuring proper staffing levels (e.g. hiring, re-assigning staff)

  • Performing other responsibilities as current needs require

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a directly-relevant field (e.g. Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture)

  • Current certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)

  • OSHA 30 Hour training

  • 15 years of experience in real estate development and construction working for developers and building owners in the role of Project Director or a similar position

  • Experience with design and construction of large (greater than one million square feet), complex mixed-use urban projects as well as experience with project delivery by developers. Experience must include primary responsibility for bringing similar (type and scale) projects, preferably in New York, to successful completion.

  • Proven ability to manage change

  • Strong problem-solving orientation

  • Expert knowledge of the construction industry

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

  • Extensive experience in successful negotiations including claims, disputes, and project close-out

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field

  • Project Management experience with large-scale, high-profile public transportation projects valued at $1 million or more

  • Experience managing projects involving the development of a campus or transportation hub

  • Previous experience working for a large AEC industry firm in a leadership or consultant role
