The Finance organization is dedicated to the career development of its 2,300 employees in over 35 different countries. The Finance Talent & Development team is focused on providing a development framework to address business knowledge and leadership & soft skills trainings. This position will be based in New York, having both regional and global responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for administrating and organizing the training requirements and special projects for all global locations as well as executing on the global training strategies.

The Finance Talent Development team is also responsible for providing a structure and support for Employee Engagement activities like Team Building, Coaching / Mentoring Framework, Cross Functional moves, Leader speak sessions, management of coordination of external vendor resources.

This position will also collaborate with the rest of the Finance Talent Development team in implementing global development solutions. It is an excellent opportunity to support the execution of a training strategy for a specific customer group while still working on select global initiatives for implementation. The successful candidate will also work closely with our Finance Communications Team to support development of communications for different initiatives.

Conducts company training programs. Monitors and reports the effectiveness of training on employees during the orientation period and for career development. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a manager.

Job Responsibilities
* Interact with local and global senior leadership to conduct Learning & Development needs and assessments for the Finance hubs in the region.

  • Facilitating class room training on soft skills / select leadership topics. This may include developing and customizing content according to inputs from leaders across units.

  • Utilize training calendar to promote training offerings to employees through various channels.

  • Contribute to the development of Soft Skills Finance Learning Paths, ensuring the most up to date and relevant support tools are readily available. Identify appropriate internal learning solutions as well as determine when vendors are appropriate and when a new learning solution should be created internally.

  • Support and collaborate with Finance Learning Team to design and develop learning solutions of all types (classroom, online, blended, etc.) for Business Technical Training activities.

  • Partner with team counterparts in the other major Finance hubs to leverage best practices and implement global learning solutions

  • Manage select global initiatives chosen to be implemented for all Finance.

  • Track participation and measures of success for the training programs, work closely with the Global Finance L&D Team for periodic reporting of training metrics to senior leaders.

    Qualifications

  • Recommended is a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 2 years of experience in coordination and/or the learning and development field.

  • Excellent project management skills with implementing global projects and managing multiple projects

  • One year experience in instructional design for online and/or classroom delivery with a keen understanding of adult learning theory

  • Proficient in Webex

  • Skilled with Amex tools like Navigator, SharePoint and ODCT.

  • Having certifications to facilitate (e.g. MBTI, MOUS, TTT etc.) a plus.

  • Working knowledge of latest training Software a plus (Articulate Presenter, Adobe Captivate and Camtasia)

  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Knowledge of AXP business products and services a plus.
