Union Square Hospitality Group, LLC Packing and Packaging Team Members in New York, New York

***VETERANS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLTY***The Packing Packaging Team position at Union Square Events is responsible for daily execution of packing finished goods and pack outs of completed orders. The Packing Packaging Team members will actively maintain an organized work space and are responsible for the inventory of all finished items in production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure daily execution of production, meeting and exceeding USE & USHG standards of quality
Report to work station on time and in uniform.
Responsible for proper cooling and storing of all food product.
Execution of weighing out and bagging all completed recipes to include event name, CIS number, date, and quantity.
Responsible for the inventorying of all food product.
Responsible for the rotation, consolidating and labeling all necessary food product.
Maintain a clean work station.
Maintain awareness of production schedule to ensure all final products are packed away timely and in full DOH code
Maintain cleanliness of entire kitchen by following assigned opening and closing duties.

Foster positive inter-departmental communication
Team Members will be in constant contact with culinary and pastry management to receive updated production requirements.
Communicate with Sous Chefs to assess any issues and important details pertinent to timing of tasks and pack outs

Ensure rigorous knowledge of and adherence to all applicable laws, policies and procedures
Adhere to all USE procedures as it pertains to personal appearance, attendance and conduct
Complete all assigned administrative requirements accurately and on time
Remain current and compliant with the correct HR practices and policies
Ensure DOL Health Department compliance as it pertains to the operation
Assist in ensuring that USE achieves an A rating or equivalent from DHMH by being compliant with health code

Minimum Qualifications
Relevant Skills, Knowledge & Ability
1plus years catering experience or relevant work
Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
Knowledge and understanding of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
Attention to detail and ability to smell & taste
Team-oriented
Manages self calmly and effectively under pressure
Education
Certifications:
NYC Food Handler Certification preferred

Work Environment:
The ability to regularly reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crawl.
Repetitive hand or arm motions.
Lifting and or moving up to 20 lbs regularly; occasionally lifting and or moving up to 50 lbs.
Standing or walking for up to 12 hours at a time.
