Union Square Hospitality Group, LLC Packing and Packaging Supervisor in New York, New York

***VETERANS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLTY***The Packing Packaging Supervisor at Union Square Events is responsible for overseeing the packaging and bagging team members and their daily execution of packing finished goods. In addition to pack outs of completed orders and events. The Packing Packaging Supervisor will actively maintain an organized work space and are responsible for the inventory of all finished items the packing team executes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure daily execution of production, meeting and exceeding USE & USHG standards of quality
Report to work station on time and in uniform.
Responsible over seeing of proper cooling and storing of all food product.
Overseeing the assembling and building of pallets, proofers and coolers under the guidance of the Kitchen Manager
Thoroughly check that all food is accounted for prior to delivery and report any discrepancies to Kitchen Manage or MOD
Responsible for overseeing the inventorying of all food product completed by the packaging team.
Responsible for the rotation, consolidating and labeling all necessary food product.
Maintain awareness of production schedule to ensure all final products are packed away timely and in full DOH code
Maintain cleanliness of entire kitchen by following assigned opening and closing duties and signing off with kitchen manager or MOD prior to clocking out

Packing and Packaging Supervisor will be in constant contact with culinary and pastry management to receive updated production requirements and pack out sheets
Communicate with Sous Chefs to assess any issues and important details pertinent to timing of tasks and pack outs

Adhere to all USE procedures as it pertains to personal appearance, attendance and conduct
Complete all assigned administrative requirements accurately and on time
Remain current and compliant with the correct HR practices and policies
Ensure DOL Health Department compliance as it pertains to the operation
Assist in ensuring that USE achieves an A rating or equivalent from DHMH by being compliant with health code

Minimum Qualifications
1plus years catering experience or relevant work
Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
Knowledge and understanding of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
Attention to detail and ability to smell and taste
Team oriented
Manages self calmly and effectively under pressure
Education
Certifications
NYC Food Handler Certification preferred

Work Environment
The ability to regularly reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crawl.
Repetitive hand or arm motions.
Lifting and or moving up to 20 lbs regularly, occasionally lifting and or moving up to 50 lbs.
Standing or walking for up to 12 hours at a time.
