***VETERANS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLTY***The Line Cook position at Union Square Events is responsible for daily execution of mis en place on each station. The line cooks will actively maintain an organized work space and are responsible for production of menu items on their respective stations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure daily execution of food production meeting and exceeding USE and USHG standards of quality
Report to work station on time and in uniform.
Produce, organize and label all mis en place for event pack outs to include event name,CIS number and date.
Provide support, when necessary, to both USE and USS production per Production Sous chefs needs
Maintain a clean work station.
Maintain awareness of production schedule to ensure mis en place is accounted for by given deadline.
Maintain cleanliness of entire kitchen by following assigned opening and closing duties.

Foster positive interdepartmental communication
Assist in ordering product with the production sous chef
Communicate with Sous Chefs to assess any issues and important details pertinent to events

Ensure rigorous knowledge of and adherence to all applicable laws, policies and procedures
Adhere to all USE procedures as it pertains to personal appearance, attendance and conduct
Complete all assigned administrative requirements accurately and on time
Remain current and compliant with the correct HR practices and policies
Ensure DOL/Health Department compliance as it pertains to the operation
Assist in ensuring that USE achieves an A rating or equivalent from DHMH by being compliant with health code

Minimum Qualifications
Relevant Skills, Knowledge and Ability
1plus years catering experience or relevant work
Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
Knowledge and understanding of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
Attention to detail and ability to smell & taste
Team oriented
Manages self calmly and effectively under pressure
Education
Certifications:
NYC Food Handler Certification preferred

Work Environment:
The ability to regularly reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crawl.
Repetitive hand or arm motions.
Lifting and or moving up to 20 lbs regularly; occasionally lifting and or moving up to 50 lbs.
Standing or walking for up to 12 hours at a time.
