Wells Fargo Intl Spec Product Cons 1 - Junior Trade Solutions Consultant (TSC) in New York, New York

Based in Chicago, Charlotte, or New York, Junior TSC will be responsible for regional portfolio and sales support, business development of Wells Fargo's international trade finance solutions, within an assigned geographic area or market segment to commercial banking. Large corporate verticals, asset based lending customers and prospects of the wholesale group engaged in global trade finance (Americas, APAC, EMEA) will also be of significant relevance as the TSC makes progress. ITS trade finance solutions expertise includes traditional trade finance, risk mitigation trade solutions, supply chain trade finance (TPF) on both international payables (DPO) & receivables (DSO), import and export letters of credit (LC’s), Open Account (OA), documentary collections (DCL), international standby LC’s (trade related: bid bonds, adv. pmt., performance bonds, offshore trade guarantees, etc.), and ECA backed trade solutions (trade insurance, working Capital, short and medium Term finance), etc.

  • Business Development Responsibilities:*

Target, prioritize and prepare for both Wells Fargo internal partners ( commercial banking, capital finance, large corp. verticals, etc.) and external prospects and client visits; Identify multi country opportunities for trade finance solutions; assist in clients’ on-boarding, prepare proposals, and assist on client centric follow up strategies. Identify and develop joint calling strategy for both internal and external trade prospects. Manage existing relationships. Conduct and/or participate in business development presentations and customer conferences.

  • Relationship Management - Growing & Managing the Business:*

Elevate the conversation to a CFO and Treasurer level by presenting our trade finance value proposition as a working capital management tool to reduce international DSO or expand DPO. Identify business development opportunities within and outside the bank. Meet annual revenue targets and expense guidelines. Identify and maintain up to date and active prospect lists. Prepare accurate revenue/cost projections. Develop, conduct or participate on pro-active calling programs with internal partners, external customers and prospects.

  • Professional Development - Product Skills:*

For each of the ITS trade finance solutions, articulate the process flows and applicability. Solid understanding of international trade finance instruments and supply chain operational flows (Export & Import). Grow skills and knowledge in trade sales procedures, implementation, and client centric due-diligence. Continue to develop credit skills and understanding of commercial banking credit underwriting. Client centric approach in all we do combined with discipline and precise methodology on client presentations, proposals, and on boarding.

  • Team Work - Collaboration Skills:*

Participate and contribute in regular internal office and group meetings to best represent our ITS Americas Team and overall international value proposition to our colleagues within Commercial Banking, Large Corp, Asset Based Lending, Agriculture, Energy, and Large Retailers. Work effectively with other domestic and overseas teams. Communicate accurately, positively and professionally to all team members. Assist other team members when needed - work effectively on any shared account responsibilities.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements./*

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of finance experience, banking experience, or a combination of both

Desired Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and achieve results

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of international and domestic banking in one or more of the following specialties: export finance, trade finance, international finance, and payment systems

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of international norms and compliance issues
