IBM Head of Content & Influencer Engagement, IBM Research in New York, New York
Discover what you can do at IBM.Individual in role will manage the development of content strategy as well as influencer engagement programs for IBM Research. The individual will manage a team of experts from writers to filmmakers, web and social strategists, all working to raise the profile and brand reputation of IBM Research globally.The head of content and influencer engagement will:
Develop bold, innovative storylines - from across IBM's Research Labs globally - that drive powerful, differentiated positioning externally.
Build a voice and standard of quality for IBM Research storytelling that effectively reaches scientists, technologists and aims to make IBM Research narratives accessible to the everyday consumer.
Become a subject matter expert on key technologies and trends; stay competitively minded on how IBM is perceived against these areas and develop differentiated positioning; understand where risks lie in losing share of voice.
Collaborate directly with IBM Researchers to develop compelling and high-quality content, cultivate Researchers as external spokespeople and provide story-telling counsel.
Nurture influencer relationships and engage with press, bloggers, analysts, scientific and academic communities, and the general public as an IBM spokesperson and IBM Research evangelist.
Educate and provide guidance to Research teams on content creation best practices, help ensure Researchers and marketing/communications team are consistently applying the brand narrative and voice, and help the teams find new and innovative ways to communicate the IBM Research story.
Evaluate the performance of all content deliverables and work with team and partners to elevate performance.
Maintain authenticity as a journalist/futurist/scientist, and build personal brand as one of our key evangelists by serving as a regular writer and contributor on key IBM Research web and social properties (in addition to managing team of writers). Host meetup-type events to drive engagement with science and technology communities.
This role is located in IBM offices in New York City, Yorktown Heights, NY, or Almaden, CA.Must have the ability to work in the US without current/future need for IBM sponsorship.Do work that matters.Discover your true potential.Be yourself.
10+ years experience in journalism and/or content marketing within scientific/technology industry
5+ years experience in managing brands via social channels
2+ years experience in using analytics to understand social reach
