EdLab, the staff unit at the Gottesman Libraries, is organized in small functional teams. EdLab is seeking GRADUATE ASSISTANTS IN ALL AREAS. Graduate assistants participate fully in the activities of their home team as well as in other activities of the library.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in home team activities as defined by supervisors and ongoing needs of the library.

  • Developing research activities that combine areas of study with library functions and activities.

  • Participating in the intellectual life of the EdLab and the library, and furthering their own academic endeavors, by participating in weekly EdLab seminars, and other lectures, seminars, and special events.

The graduate assistant position is limited to Teachers College students who are registered for at least 6 credits. Graduate assistants receive a monthly stipend of $1500 and tuition exemption points assigned to the position, and work, on average, 20 hours a week.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skills and abilities of graduate assistants must include the ability to exercise professional judgment, work independently, show initiative, communicate effectively, demonstrate excellent organizational skills, and contribute to the advancement of TC.

  • Must be a student matriculated in a TC degree program relevant to the position described.

  • Must be taking at least 6 credits.

  • TC employees are not eligible for this position.

  • Must be able to abide by the Student Confidentiality Agreement.

  • Must be able to abide by the Student Privacy Requirements.

  • The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a work or project environment relevant to the area of responsibility of their home team.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Creative, proactive, and responsible

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Applicant should be familiar with EdLab
