Director, Venture Capital/Private Equity Ecosystem

This is a terrific opportunity to join one of the world’s largest enterprise software companies and have a direct influence in nurturing the next generation of tech talent within the PE and VC community.

The program seeks to partner with Venture Capital and Private Equity firms and their portfolio companies in order to create an ecosystem of builders and innovators on the Oracle platform.

Your primary objectives and responsibilities will be:

Program Management:

Development and execution of program plan including selection, curriculum, budgeting, forecasting, logistics and engaging promising VCs and/or PEs.

Establishing KPIs and optimizing process to achieve success based on defined metrics.

Day to day management of program delivered by Oracle and third party sourced partners.

Be the advocate for the investment community within Oracle for product innovation

Stakeholder Management / Partnerships

Development of partnerships with local accelerators, incubators, VCs, angels, investment community and ecosystem evangelists.

Sourcing local partners to deliver elements of curriculum and workshops.

Working closely with the Director for Strategic Partnerships and Events to execute local events.

Management of internal stakeholders as main point of contact for the Program as a liaison between the VC and/or PE, their PCs and Oracle.

Executing Proof of Concepts, Pilots and commercial opportunities between portfolio companies and Oracle, and its clients.

Ecosystem Development, Communications and PR

Developing ecosystem relationships with local partners / communities to build a pipeline of companies startups and portfolio companies and Oracle.

Working closely with the Director of Communications and PR on communications and PR efforts.

Attend local meet-ups, events, and industry focused initiatives to drive a culture of thought leadership.

You are:

A entrepreneurial driven individual with a demonstrable track record in the VC and/or PE Community.

You have your finger on the pulse of the startup community and be able to mobilize your network to find the top tier PEs and/or VCs to build into our ecosystem.

You will live and breath technology and understand the changing trends of a particular industry or technology area.

You will be able to think big and execute in detail managing multiple projects simultaneously.

You will be execution focused, organized and be able to deliver to tight deadlines.


You will have an existing network of tech startup mentors, VCs and PEs.

You will have been involved or run a startup of your own, or worked for a PE/VC firm.

You will have experience with working with corporate companies within a similar .innovation teams.

You will have an MBA or equiv.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 of software engineering or related experience preferred.
