Advertised Summary Job Description

This position is located at 405 Lexington Avenue

Reporting to the CEO/CIO, this individual will serve as a "generalist" investor and key member of the investment team overseeing all investment activities across the portfolio. Specific responsibilities include:

Asset Allocation: Participate in asset allocation studies and portfolio rebalancing activities embracing IMC's unique risk allocation framework.

Manager Selection: Perform due diligence and monitoring of current and prospective third-party investment managers across asset classes. Evaluate performance and recommend rebalancing or termination actions as required. Direct the process for presentation and evaluation of managers to the team utilizing IMC's rigorous and systematic proprietary manager selection process. Monitor and evaluate manager performance against risk/return/liquidity objectives.

Portfolio Construction - Investment Decision Making: Engage in portfolio management decisions for all asset classes. It is expected that each member of the investment team will contribute to idea generation, research and healthy debate.

Conduct Ad Hoc Studies and Projects: Prepare white papers and studies for the IMC and Board on various asset classes, investment strategies and investment managers.

Network: Cultivate and maintain a professional network across the investment community including managers, peers, consultants, etc. to remain abreast of developments and stay ahead of trends.

Staff Development and Retention: Help inspire a team-oriented environment. Provide mentorship and development opportunities to the analyst/associate team including them in high-level discussions, research, and analysis. Additional responsibilities include supporting the summer internship program and assisting analyst recruiting.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

-Bachelor's degree required

-Deep experience in institutional investment management, a demonstrated track record of achievement and at least five years of direct experience in manager selection and preferably additional investment experience with an endowment, family office, OCIO, asset management firm, or fund of funds.

Asset/Risk Allocation/Manager Selection

-Evidence of strong investment judgment and acumen with experience sourcing investments, leading due diligence efforts, negotiations, and the ongoing monitoring of external managers.

-Candidates may be generalists across the complete spectrum of asset classes or specialists with deep knowledge of a specific area. IMC is keenly interested in candidates who bring depth in public markets, equity L/S, credit, derivatives, rates, and currencies. This includes a strong understanding of leading managers, investment processes, and operations. A bottom-up fundamental as well as a top-down global, macro perspective is valued.

-Highly analytical and quantitative problem solver, adept at handling complex financial matters and putting together an objective decision-making framework and process.

-Passionate about investing and a self-starter able to "hit the ground running" to contribute, originate, and drive new investment ideas.

-Comfortable working within and embracing an established process-driven, risk centered framework.

-CFA, MBA or an equivalent advanced degree in finance or a related quantitative discipline strongly preferred
