BlackRock’s Global Credit team manages more than $150 billion in assets across public and private market credit strategies.. The platform, along with BlackRock’s Global Fixed Income platform, offers clients one of the industry's broadest arrays of investment choices across index, model-based and fundamental investment styles.

The Credit Product Strategy team is a bridge between investment teams and BlackRock’s client teams (and underlying clients). The Associate will be responsible for the development, preparation and maintenance of investment content, as well as product, market and business-related materials for BlackRock’s Global Credit business and select public market credit products. The Associate will assist with preparing for client and prospect meetings, including updating presentation materials, portfolio reviews and market updates. The Associate will work closely with portfolio managers, credit analysts, strategists and relationship managers on a daily basis, and will be essential to handling a wide range of requests, speaking with clients about markets and positioning, and serving as a market and product expert for designated products. . Through this role the Associate will gain familiarity with the investment process and portfolio construction across our product range, the markets that we participate in and how we go to market across various vehicles and client ranges.

US Credit Product Strategist

  • Interface with portfolio managers, senior strategists, and institutional / retail relationship managers (sales) to develop and oversee the production of the materials for on-going deliverables, portfolio reviews, prospect meeting, ad-hoc meetings, new products
  • Respond to ad-hoc inquiries from clients and relationship managers regarding Fixed Income markets and our platform/products/investment strategies
  • Coordinate with portfolio teams, other BlackRock teams, and global offices to ensure consistency and quality over the material across the global product set
  • Develop ’best-in-class’ set of client communications including strategy presentations, market commentaries, and thought pieces
  • Contribute to building and maintaining team infrastructure and metrics

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Champion the strategic growth of the Public Market Credit business
  • Support the sales teams by disseminating information and data regarding our Funds and products and answer questions pertaining to broader markets
  • Learn about fixed income markets, our investment strategies and how each strategy is competitive in the market
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to assist in fund raising efforts and asset retention across the platform
  • Maintain marketing materials for all strategies and product offerings
  • Write market/investment commentaries for investors, shareholders, current clients and prospects
  • Work with the Consultant team to complete RFPs and RFI’s across our strategies
  • Gather competitive data, run Fund analytics/risk metrics versus our competitors, and draft competitive positioning points for our strategies
  • Develop content for use in client portfolio review meetings
  • Assist with internal projects focused on presenting senior management with business and market updates and prepare materials for our mutual fund board committee
  • Aspire to become a client-facing strategist and primary point of contact for select public market credit strategies

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task quickly and efficiently
  • Attention to detail and a sense of urgency around deadlines
  • Self-starter who can work effectively on their own as well as with a team, while being resourceful and able to work with other groups to obtain the information necessary to complete tasks
  • Ability to synthesize data from BlackRock’s proprietary systems in a way that is easy to understand and relevant for client discussions
  • Highly proficient in Excel, with ability to manipulate data in a spreadsheet
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint, with ability to create marketing slides, enhance our sales pitch, and update pitch books
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Desire to build working knowledge in Credit
  • BA/BS required
  • Prior relevant internship/work experience and some Fixed Income knowledge strongly preferred
