Position Summary
You will collaborate with colleagues from Platinion North America and/or The Boston Consulting Group on national and international client projects.
Together with our clients, you will develop superior IT concepts and architecture solutions as well as support technical implementations actively and on site, applying your sound technical know-how, your understanding of business contexts, and your analytical and conceptual skills.
BCG Platinion provides technology consulting services to clients on the following topics:
* Management of large-scale projects
* Restructuring of IT processes and organization
* Functional and technical support of mergers and acquisitions
* Analysis of IT and software architecture weaknesses
* Specification and implementation of IT architectures
* Product evaluation, such as core systems
* Technical concept development and design of software solutions
* Quality assurance for IT implementation
* Design and implementation of feasibility studies
* Load and performance tests
Job Responsibilities
Typical tasks include the following
* Technical Expertise in multiple specific IT subjects or products
* Long-term comprehensive experience with enterprise technologies
* Technical architecture and code reviews and performance of technical proofs of concept
* Analysis of complex IT application landscapes
* Analysis of the status quo and optimization of IT architectures
* Functional and technical online and Internet strategies
* IT project management and quality assurance
* Optimization of application development processes
* High level of credibility with business executives and in IT topics
Basic Job Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses:
* A university degree with above-average academic performance in a mathematical-scientific field, information technology, or business administration
* At least 10 years of professional experience in the field of professional software development or IT project management
* Extensive technical expertise in multiple IT subjects (overarching understanding of architecture, object-oriented programming languages, database design and systems, component technologies, XML standards, and current technology trends) with a broad knowledge of additional IT subjects
* In depth knowledge with the ability to be hands-on in work and analysis, operationally involved
* Expert in execution of tasks
* Expertise in project planning and controlling
* Overview of common development methods and tools
* Experience in requirement and configuration management
* Insight into quality and risk management processes
* Outstanding analytical and conceptual skills
