A senior level designer position performing non-routine and complex designer assignments within company and industry standards and codes. Equipment specifications, detailed drawings and verbal instructions are used as a means of data and information to perform these assignments. Works independently with occasional advice and support from Supervisor and/or Engineers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Visualizes and plans the graphic presentation of complex items having distinctive design features that can differ significantly from established designer precedents.
Recommends design changes to Supervisor and/or engineers.
Mentors less experienced personnel and offers advice and knowledge.
Works closely with Supervisor, Engineers, and Project Managers to obtain project information and ensure design documents are accurate and complete.
Will prepare cost and quantity estimates.
Will perform design calculations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
At least 10 years senior level design experience on aviation projects is required
10 years experience with CAD is required
Good written and verbal communication skills including the proficient use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.) is required
Ability to work as part of a team
Exhibits planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure on multiple project deadlines
Demonstrated ability to see a project through to completion
Excellent attention to detailing of complex civil design components
