Overall Purpose of the Role

As an Analyst in the Corporate Banking – FIG Americas, you will gain a broad understanding of the corporate banking business by working on a variety of assignments across FIG sectors.

Analysts participate as full members of teams engaged in delivering Barclays’ corporate banking platform to sector clients: specifically, transaction banking and liquidity solutions, trade and debt finance solutions, as well as working with our investment banking colleagues across the broader product suite.

The specific responsibilities of the role may include credit analysis and business modelling, industry research, coordination of internal and external processes and assistance in the preparation of proposals, other written materials, and events.

You will have responsibility for: · Supporting excellent client service and assist the Relationship Director and team building deep long lasting relationships with sophisticated treasury teams · Assisting the Relationship Director and team with managing a portfolio of large, multinational corporations that have sophisticated corporate banking needs on a global basis · Supporting the team when responding to customers dealing with a range of requests including any calls in Relationship Directors’ absence · Supporting the team with ad-hoc internal projects

Work with the Relationship Director to develop a sustainable portfolio of Corporate Bank business through increasing wallet share and winning new business on a prudent and selective basis in line with the Firm’s credit and reputational risk appetite for the specific Industry stripe · Assist the Relationship Director with product knowledge, sales research, customer relationship development, and research into solutions to meet customers’ needs · Support the production and updating of business plans for key accounts – including ongoing research about client activity, business performance and market updates

Support the building of strong relationships with product partners on a global basis – Investment Bank, Barclaycard, Wealth – with the objective of delivering relevant ideas to the client set within the Industry sector

Key Accountabilities and Skills Required

/Customer Sales & Service- 50%/

Delivering against financial and customer objectives, by: · Supporting existing customers by providing excellent service · Researching prospective customers to support the development of new relationships and help win new business – while doing so you should be cognisant of the Banks credit & reputational risk appetite for the specific Industry sector. · Working with the Investment Bank, sector industry specialists as appropriate for solution delivery · Working with product partners and the wider Barclays Group to increase wallet share – Investment Bank, Barclaycard, Wealth · Adherence to pricing policies for debt, trade, credit balances & money transmission information · Using prioritisation (DPG) model to ensure regular contact with customers, including strategic annual review, service meetings and complaint resolution.

Assist the Relationship Director in: o On boarding processes o Know Your Client management o Meeting preparation o Developing an understanding of clients and market sector o Develop effective negotiation skills through participation in meetings (internal and external) o Develop pricing and due diligence understanding o Accurate and timely recording of pipeline opportunities and updates o Complete call reports for all meetings

/Risk Management & Control - 20%/

Delivering against risk objectives, by: · Operating in accordance with CB risk appetite and lending procedures and the sector specific protocols · Support the monitoring and regulation of a robust records management framework · Ensure high standards of data quality are maintained at all times · Working to continuously improve credit knowledge and expertise · Building an effective working partnership with credit colleagues · Ensure compliance with mandatory risk policies and procedures relating to credit conformance and regulatory, operational, legal risk and Financial Crime.

Basic Qualifications o BA/BS Degree o Strong written and oral communication skills o Excellent Word, PowerPoint, Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications o Working knowledge and prior experience with financial modelling, credit and financial analysis* *Competencies o Commercial Effectiveness: Including, client/customer focus and commerciality skills. o Control Environment: Including, risk management. o Business Skills: Including, decision making, negotiation skills, having the ability to execute and knowledge of the financial industry. o Personal & Interpersonal Skills: Including, communication, influence and collaboration. o Technical Knowledge: Including, credit, IT and financial, Knowledge and Expertise o Knowledge of the Bank’s processes, products, services and policies required to undertake the role: o Detailed knowledge of the Corporate and Investment Banks income drivers. o Detailed knowledge of corporate banking products and propositions (trade, debt, money transmission, credit cards, deposits etc). o A working knowledge of the Investment Bank’s product set (Bonds, Loans, Commercial Paper, derivative products etc). o Credit risk management – ability to interpret a company’s financial statements and broader publicly available market information including research reports, broker notes etc. o An understanding of policies and procedures to perform the job including credit, KYC and product. o Knowledge of the corporate bank’s competitive position across each product set (cash management, cards etc) as well as Barclays broader market position. o An understanding of how the economic and regulatory environment impacts Barclays and the effect this has on our client’s businesses. o Comprehensive knowledge of mandatory Risk policies and procedures relating to credit conformance and regulatory, operational and legal risk. o An understanding of the corporate bank’s pricing and risk models.
