Work with branch sales supervisor to control, maintain, and establish the product mix in each account he served.

NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION:
Their overall objective is to maintain, retain, and attract customers. They are required to serve their customers accurately, courteously, timely, and daily. They will be required to provide as much sales information as they can to assist the route sales supervisors to achieve the route sale's goals. The route sales position is the last leg of our distribution system, but our first representative in customer service. The route sales representative merchandises our product for our customer's customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Have a valid operator s license. [NY - commercial or CDL license required.]
The ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. 60'.
The ability to drive a 16',18 step van with standard shift and /or 22 or 24 straight truck.
The ability to enter and exit a 16 , 18 , or 22 step van/box truck unassisted.
The ability to determine color-codes on twist ties/quick locks.
The ability to stock store shelves by kneeling, squatting, lifting and reaching.
The ability to stack product trays 14 high on dollies.
The ability to push/pull product trays stacked 14 high on dollies.
The ability to open/close rear cargo doors on 16', 18 , or 22 step van/box truck.
The ability to write, read, or remembers directions for the route you are assigned to operate.
The ability to operate a hand held computer.
The ability to operate and communicate over the telephone.
The following specific functions are assigned this position:
Arrive to work on time.
Maintains a neat clean appearance - wears the Company uniform.
Works the hours necessary to serve each customer completely and thoroughly.
Maintains a neat clean vehicle.
Follows the route sales supervisor s instructions.
PRINC PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Route Sales Representative (continued)
* Inspects the route sales vehicle daily for defects before going.
Checks the load for that day s delivery - report all short or damaged product to a supervisor or night packer.
Checks for special orders prior to starting the route.
Loads and secures the product on the route truck.
Drives safely and courteously at all times - obeys speed limits, stop signs, traffic lights,
parking regulations, etc.
* Serve each customer daily, in a timely courteous fashion.
* Know the customer s procedures for checking product in/out of each account.
* Double checks all orders delivered to each customer.
* Checks for correct pricing on bills and product.
* Enters carry over in hand held accurately.
Sells, merchandises, orders, and distributes our entire baked food line in each account as
directed by the supervisors.
* Asks for, sets-up, and maintains off rack displays.
* Keeps the shelf space assigned to our product neat and clean.
* Maintains point-of-purchase material - keeping it fresh and updated.
* Rotates product on market, daily.
* Maintains fresh product on market according to company policy.
Makes callbacks were necessary or directed by the route sales supervisor where applicable.
Sorts return product into trays of ten pieces for credit.
Picks up all empty product trays and return them to the depot daily.
Settles up accurately, turn in all paperwork, authorized charges, book accounts, cash sales, and voids daily.
Process all orders in a timely fashion.
Turns in vehicle repair cards when vehicle defects are discovered.
Will wear a seat belt when operating a company vehicle.
Performs any other assignment in keeping with this job function as may be directed by the route sales supervisor.
The Bimbo Bakeries USA Route Sales Representative must have a good driving record and valid operator s license. They must be a self motivated results oriented individual able to take direction well. They must be able to do all physical essential functions of the job. They must be willing to work the hours necessary to do a complete and accurate job on the route he is assigned. They will be able to communicate effectively with persons of various backgrounds and experience
