Intern, JetBlue Crewmember Crisis Fund

Position Summary

The Intern, for the JetBlue Crewmember Crisis Fund (JCCF) reports to the Supervisor and is responsible for assisting with the coordination of the day-to-day fiscal, administrative, and operational activities as it relates to Grant Giving and Grantee Relations by supporting the JCCF. The Coordinator works closely with the JCCF officers & Board to cultivate grantee relationships, prepare donations and gifts, as well as to initiate contacts and communications for funding activity. The JetBlue Crewmember Crisis Fund is a non-profit 501(c) (3) is committed to supporting Crewmembers and their immediate family with short-term financial support in times of crisis when other resources are not available. Funds for JCCF grants come from Crewmembers via a tax-deductible payroll deduction. JCCF is a lean non-profit organization

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support Board activities including, among other things, Board Meetings, Advisory Committee Meetings, communications, granting and volunteer events, and partnerships.

  • Respond and record grant inquiries and applications; working closely with grant applicants via phone, email and fax to process their grant requests.

  • Route inquiries to key stakeholders for review

  • Organize and maintain electronic and paper board books of grant documents and resources for Board Meetings

  • Record receipt of grantee reports in grants database

  • Produce reports including grant activity reports, disbursement reports, and other reports as needed for the Board

  • Support Supervisor and Advisory Board with administrative tasks related to board meetings, compliance, grants

  • Work to enhance and improve grants management processes and increase efficiencies

  • Maintain website content with current information

  • Assist with maintaining the Board’s financials and completing tax filings and grant disbursements

  • Provide other support as needed to JCCF and the Advisory Board Committees

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Skilled user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Experienced and comfortable working with numbers and in databases

  • Impeccable attention to detail

  • Strong document management skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or understanding of foundation and development office procedures

  • Ability to work well independently and with a team

  • Excellent time management skills, aptitude for proper task prioritization, and a results-oriented work process

  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion

  • Available to work full-time 40+ hours per week for up to six months

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Two (2) years related work experience tied to non- profit or social work programs and a strong interest in providing high quality administrative support to a professional team

  • Experience in various social media channels

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

  • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
