Position Description:Candidate will perform on-site office engineering services for an aviation redevelopment project in Queens. The candidate will be responsible for daily organization of project records regarding contractor activities, record keeping, contactor payment processing and other duties including but not limited to:
Implement the document control plan and set up the field office.
Maintenance and operation of document control software. Working knowledge of Contract Manager (previously Expedition) is desirable.
Maintain correspondence log.
Maintain project records, including RFIs, daily reports, test results, shop drawings and submittals, logistics plans, meeting minutes, and any reports and documents required.
Enter data into the payment processing system upon approval from RE and Senior Inspector.
In accordance with MURK procedures, maintain project files on the job site and prepare and maintain record drawings as work progresses.
Monitor supplemental contract change orders in accordance. Maintain cost accounting records with respect to portions of the work to be performed by supplemental change orders. Prepare independent cost estimates for changes resulting from design or field contract revisions and advise Resident Engineer of proposed changes.
Prepare and recommend payments of contractor monthly estimate certificates. Prepare monthly cost control reports indicating the value of the finished work constructed to date, the value of additional work to be performed, comparisons of the project cost to date with the original estimated project cost, and a forecast of the cost to finalize the project.
Job Requirements:Candidate must have at least one year of experience in Engineering or Construction Inspection, preferably on New York City or New York State projects; a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred. Candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and possess excellent organization, written and oral communication skills.
