The New York Foundling Family Therapist in Brooklyn, New York
Work directly with discharge resource and/or children who have been placed in foster care, their biological families, and the foster parents caring for them.
Provide individual, family and/or group counseling and parenting coaching to an average caseload of 10-12 families.
Complete mandated contacts, home visits and outreach in a timely manner.
Conduct assessments, including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses.
Complete all necessary paperwork including Family Assessment Service Plans, Progress Notes, and Monthly Program Statistics within necessary time frames.
Engage key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.
Implement problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, and outcome review and strategy revision procedure using the treatment model's analytic process.
Arrange and participate in team meetings on cases to coordinate services for clients.
Master degree Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related subject area. preferred. Bilingual a plus.
1 years’ experience providing crisis management skills
1 years’ experience with social skills assessment and intervention
Excellent communication skills
Understanding of and enthusiasm for the TFCO model
Strong organizational skills and communication skills
