Compensation

Salary Range:

$86,427 - $136,611 (Grade C - 702 Points)

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting the senior staff of the Workers’ Compensation Division by directing the administrative processing, case management and resolution of Workers' Compensation claims brought against the Authority by its employees in order to increase employee availability, minimize financial liability and meet legal, contractual and ethical obligations. In addition, this position will take a leading role in the oversight of, among other areas, file room, mail room delivery and direct a team of managers and examiners and other staff, including medical staff. The incumbent may be responsible for preparing statistical analyses and reports for the Law Department and preparing for and attending STEP hearings and Arbitrations. The incumbent will oversee the administrative details of the Division, including oversight of workers’ compensation and differential checks, time restoral, appropriate closure of cases, investigation of eligibility for employee reinstatement, and determination of eligibility for pharmacy card.

Education and Experience

A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years related experience, five (5) of which must have been as a supervisor/manager in insurance or private industry providing Medical Case Management/Quality Assurance.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation, Knowledge of agency rules and regulations.

  • Familiarity with agency collective bargaining agreements; previous experience, specifically with Workers' Compensation.

  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal communications skills and computer literacy.

Appointment may be at comparable level to current level of selected candidate.
